Kim Macdonald to Frugal Photo

Hey Everyone,

For those of you who pay attention to detail you will notice that on the images below I have changed the copyright from Kim Macdonald Photography to Frugal Photo. A few months ago I began working for a company called Frugal Photo. Frugal Photo was created by the two founders (David Biesse & Simon Tanenbaum) of Harvard Photo.

Frugal Photo came out of having to turn away many customers from parent company HarvardPhoto.com.

Harvard Photo founders David and Simon realized their experience and expertise managing and successfully delivering their unique brand of service could be made more widely available by training a select few of their longtime “apprentices.”

I started off working for Frugal Photo as a photographer photographing weddings! Dave and Simon just recently made the decision to add children portraiture to their portfolio. With this said instead of having two seperate brands I will be operating under Frugal Photo label. All images displayed in this blog are still my photographs and I will still be updating this blog with all my ramblings in regards to My Family, My Challenges, My Truimps, My Story and My Life!!! Frugal Photo

Here is my latest shoot...ONE CUTIE PATOOTIE!

It all started with the birth of my children. The little angels were born and "wow" it was the most amazing moments...the moments disappeared into "time past". Never time forgotten but time that disappeared into the distant past. I realized that I needed to take many pictures to freeze those moments to look back at them in the future. Our children are growing bigger everyday. I find life is speeding by and I want to remember every little moment from the tops of their head to the tips of there toes, let us help you freeze your child's actions.

I love the challenge of capturing an image of a moving toddler. It really brings joy to me to capture the sparkle in their eyes and natural movement of who they are. I love to freeze these moments in time. It's all a moment, every movement, every pose and every action. I just want to take those natural movements and moments of your child and freeze them for you. Yes, a beautiful smiling face is wonderful but so is the pout, giggle, cry, frown, serious face and all the different faces that your child makes during that moment in their life.

Our children grow very quickly and each of these facial expressions change all too quickly.

The best pictures are often the most natural ones, the ones the kids are leading. If you are looking to get the best smiles and the most relaxed picture let your children move freely in an area that is a scenic background.

In an ever-changing world, some things refuse to change - like the simple charms of just being a child. Aren't you glad. Look at these beautiful children. They are full of special simple charms that make me smile with delight. Thank-goodness, some things never change. There is no substitute for making mud pies or lying on your tummy or back in the grass watching the clouds roll by. Kids love to look up into the sky and create shapes and things out of the clouds. Sometimes they may see dragons, lions, elephants and snakes floating through the air. My only wish is that childhood would last much longer then it does. What if we could capture and hold on to pieces of our own childhood. The nice thing about being a photographer or the one with the camera is that I can capture and freeze these precious moments of your children for you.

Children know how to live in the moment. They get to enjoy ordinary events in an extraordinary fashion. If we can learn from our children we will spend less energy convincing ourselves that right now isn't good enough and more time enjoying the special moments we are in!!! Our theory is take lots and lots of pictures to freeze the actions in time so that we can enjoy these moments forever and ever!! Hurry to the Frugal Photo website to view our portfolio's!

Have a great evening!

Jacob's Haircut "Before & After"

About a week ago Jacob decided he wanted a hair cut....ahhhhh!

Normally, I love short haircuts. Connor, has always had a nice short cut but Jacob has a very strong personality and has been adamant about having long cool skater hair!!! People would call him a girl and he didn't care, things people said did not bother or affect him. I have grown to love his longer hair as it was very fitting to his personality...but he wanted a hair cut so I was not going to stand in the way!!! We booked an appointment and voila...hair is all gone - most of it anyway.

This is the most recent shot of Jacob's long hair!

After shot! Short and sweet - although his personality has not changed, it is still crazy...hahaha!

Have a great evening and lets hope for a new episode of Desperate Housewifes and Brothers and Sisters!

Could Someone Go Back And Get My Stomach?

Connor had a hockey game in Niagara Falls at 5:00 pm but Ryan and Connor wanted to go watch another team play at 1:00pm. I had 4 options: stay home (no way), go early (nah), drive later myself (not so fun) OR drop Connor and Ryan off at the arena and take Jacob on a Niagara Falls adventure...woo hoo - let the good times roll!

This is a view from on the Farris Wheel...I was much happier taking pictures...it gave me something to focus on and forget about my fear...OMG!

These pictures were actually taken at the very end of our adventure day! After walking around the falls and looking at all the beautiful things "mother nature" had to offer, I thought I would take Jacob on a Farris wheel ride...All day Jacob could see the Farris wheel off in the distance and would often ask if we could find it...Well, I thought to myself (I'd rather not...I seem to get a little ill feeling when I go on rides. Usually, Ryan is there to take them on the fun exciting rides but he was back at the hockey game. As a child I loved the rides and never had a fear bone in my body...well, now as an adult I get nausiated, dizzy and a little scared! As a mommy, I try very hard to not let my children see fear. I want them to try everything (with in reason - of course...LOL). So, I said to myslef ok, we are going to do this...ahhhhhhhhhhhh - we survived but I think my stamach is still back on the Farris wheel and I was shaky all day!!! Jacob loved it and was extremely thankful - that made it all worth it!

This was the view from the Farris wheel...OMG!

Here are some pictures of what we saw..Jacob is a great adventure buddy!

Smiles are the soul’s kisses

Time to Play
I hope my children look back on today,
And see a mother who had time to play.
There will be years for cleaning and cooking,
for children grow up while we are not looking.

How do I love you?
Let me count the ways.
I love you on your very best
and very worst of days.

I love to see you laughing and dancing in the rain;
And even when you lose your shoes, I love you just the same.

I love to hear you singing.
I love to see you smile.
I love the way you take each day in your own unhurried style.

I'm happy when you're happy,
and I'm sorry when you're sad.
And even though it may not show, I love you when you're bad.

How do I love you? Well, now let me see...
I love the way you act so brave when you fall and hurt your knee.

I love to watch you sleeping, tucked away in dreams,
I love to hear you whisper all your giant plans and schemes.

I love the way you wear your pants with the front part in the back.
And the way you walk around sometimes with your head inside a sack.

I love to see you deep in thought.
I love to watch you play.
And though I'm sure you'll never know it, I love you more each day.

How do I love you? It's impossible to say.
For if I had a million days and time enough for all the praise,
I couldn't tell you all the ways...I LOVE YOU!

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. –Eleanor Roosevelt

A girl is a bundle of sweetness and brightness and fun, the beauty of springtime, the warmth of the sun.

Smiling
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine,
could travel round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

One Word - Stunning

All I had to do was snap the shutter...I got to photograph this little beauty today and literally...I didn't have to do anything but snap the shutter!

A daughter is a dream come true.
Pink lace, ribbons, fluff and froufrou,
Giggles, kisses, bubbles and bows,
She's such a sweet dear from her head to her toes

Little Girl Pigtails
dimples and hugs,
nothing quite like
a Little Girl's Love.

Precious

A wee bit of heaven,
Drifted down from above.
A handful of happiness
A heart full of love.

The mystery of life,
So sacred and sweet.
The giver of joy,
So deep and complete.

Precious and priceless,
So loveable to.
The world's sweetest miracle,
That would be you.

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs
And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow
And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls
And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,
And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you

Little hands and tiny feet,
Shy, and cute, and so petite;
Little whimpers, little cries,
Darling, little sparkling eyes;
Outstretched fingers, wiggling toes;
God, how can you love them so!
Children chase away the gloom,
And sunshine fills most every room;
Little mannerisms dear,
Laughs of happiness and cheer;
You just can't know the joy of home,
Until you have children of your own.
You feel so humble, deep inside,
And have so much parental pride;
You can't describe the joy and pleasure,
God has given with this treasure;
A million couldn't buy the joy,
The happiness, and love, sublime;
They're bundles straight from heaven,
And, Lord, they're really mine.

those eyes...simply breath taking!

what a peaceful little princess...Mom & Dad you are in big trouble!

Have a great evening.

Blessed With Good Fortune

Here is a sneak peak...This is all there is for a few months until the Wedding!!! Susan, it's killing me...I am not good at keeping secrets but I promised you so everyone will just have to wait alittle longer...the day will come soon enough, actually there are only 45 more days..woo hoo!!! Today, was Susan's "Wedding dress fitting day" - I couldn't and wouldn't miss it for the world - Susan, you took my breath away! I have been sworn to secrecy with the remainder of the photos...Dad, no begging or I will get in big, big trouble...LOL!

Susan, you are absolutely beautiful...thanks for sharing your special day with me!

Well, I took a picture of some wedding dresses just to peak your curiosity - which dress is it....hmmmmm, I know - can you guess...it may be on this rack, it may not be - LOL!!!

Could it be this dress, the dress hanging so elegantly in the front window...I know, I know but I can't tell you...he!he!he! This could be fun!

Every little girl dreams about her wedding..now this little girls dreams are coming true! We all look for that special someone to come into our life and make our world a better place. We want that special person to show us what love is, and what it is like to truly be loved by someone. We want the ability to give our heart away. As a little girl we want to find that special someone that we can not live without. Susan, has found that special someone that completes her - now she is finalizing all the details...from the vail on her head to the shoes on her feet!

Dreaming

I used to dream of eyes so blue
And loving arms to hold me.
I used to dream of heroic knights
And how gracious they would be.

I used to dream of how I wouldn’t settle
For anything less than best.
I used to dream of how he would majestically
Lay all fears to rest.

I used to dream of fairy tales,
How wondrous would they be
I used to dream of story books
All patterned after me.

I used to dream of a lot of things,
But the moment I met you,
I immediately stopped dreaming,
Because all of my dreams came true.

- Tina Cerruti -

I Corinthians 13
Love is patient; love is kind.
Love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way: it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice in wrong doing, but rejoices in truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
And now faith, hope, and love abide,
and the greatest of these is love.

Susan, you are an amazing person and I am so proud to call you my friend! I am honoured to be part of your day.

Simple and Real Friends
A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Susan, I read this poem and tears come to my eyes because you are in every way a real friend...as I read each sentence you fit perfectly...you may be a simple person but a REAL friend! You are the greatest gift...you make my life better...and make my world a better place. You always bring many smiles, giggles, laughs and sometimes tears, good tears of course...I can't wait till your wedding is over so we can share poutine again....LOL!

Enjoy and have a great evening.
