My Crocs:
Oh how I love my crocs...you know, when I first saw them I thought they were funny looking! Connor and Jacob kept asking us to buy a pair for them and we said "no". Well, curiosity got the best of me. I saw these funny looking shoes everywhere I went, on both young and old people!!! So, off to the store I went to see what the fuss was all about. I looked at them and I thought "I don't think I can wear these silly looking things...they look like boxes as they are pretty bulky! I proceeded to try them on. I looked down at my feet and still thought "I don't think so...and then I started to walk...wow! Ok, walking in them totally changed my mind!

http://www.nofeargear.com/nofear/dept.asp?dept_id=6072&?s_id=0&mail_id=ADW&key_id=crocs

they are sooooo comforatable
they are really soft
they mold to your feet
they are barely there as they only weigh 6 ounces
there are holes allowing the air to be vented
there is a slip resistent sole
they are bacteria & odor resistant
there are port holes to allow the sand and water to pass through
and they are easy maintenance and pretty cheap

I thought if these things are this comfortable I have to have a pair and if they are not the most attractive things I have to have a bright and fun colour, so I picked fuschia...now I need some other colours to match my outfits!

We are officially a croc family!!! Ryan was not sure about the regualr crocs so he got a pair of thong crocs and he loves them. Crocs to your feet are like a pillow to your head!

Coffee
Oh how I love Tim Hortons Coffee!!! I need to have atleast one cup of coffee every morning to feel alive, awake and energized for the day. There is nothing better then the to go cup. I know this is all psychological but it does work. I find if I get really busy and forget my morning coffee I will have a headache by the afternoon!

My husband

Ryan is such an amazing husband. He is a fabulous daddy and works extremely hard. Today, I realized something. I often complain and wish he would be more romantic. He cooks, cleans, does laundry, irons, fixes some things, works many hours and has patience for his children...but I want more - LOL. I always say to him why don't you bring me flowers and you know like the romantic things from the movies.

Well, today I realized he does do those things but in a different kind of way. Today he bought me a step ladder...sounds silly and I am sure you are all saying "that does not sound very romantic, however, it is. I think it is his bouquet of flowers.

I was shooting my son's hockey game yesterday (you can view a couple shots below)and there was no place to capture some good shots as there was glass all around the rink. I went to the restaurant upstairs to see if I could borrow a bar stool and they said no...I looked everwhere until I found this little half wall beside the penalty box. It was like a balance beam...I had one foot infront of the other and I had to constantly balance one foot in front of the other to capture shots from one end of the arena to the other. This half wall was probably 3 feet high so if I lost my balance and fell, I would probably brake my camera and a few bones...it was a balancing act...that's for sure!

So, today we were at costco and I had already paid and he said "I will be right back" and he came back with this ladder. A ladder to keep me safe and allow me to take pictures in the future from many different angles around the arena's. I thought "wow that is pretty cool" and I found it just as romantic as if he had bought a bundle of flowers. It is the thought that counts and this thought was truly a loving thought, it was a thought that some people might not even thought of!

Ryan is a very supportive husband and always looks for ways to help me in my many adventures in life. I am so glad to have him by my side. So remember ladies your husband might not be the bring home flowers type of guy but look at the different things he may do for you...the simple things that we may forget like make a pot of coffee and just being by our side!

The Hockey Season Begins

FRONT DOOR: When a goalie challenges a shooter, that shooter is considered the “front door”. The goalie must learn to balance the trade off between “front door” and “back door” through reading the situation.

“READING” THE SITUATION: The goalie’s ability to recognize the type of situation and make two important decisions. . . where to be positioned and what save selection to make.

SAVE SELECTION: The goalie’s proper save choice in a given situation.

SITUATION: Playing goal is not playing a series of shots, but rather “playing situations”. Situations may, or may not, end in a shot. A situation is made up of where all players are, and the puck. It is not just the puck or the shooter. It is the situation that the goalie “reads”.

BACK DOOR: The area “behind the goalie” when challenging. The goalie must learn to balance the size of the ”back door” vs. the size of the “front door” through “reading the situation”.

HUGGING THE POST: The goalie’s position when the puck is behind the goal line. The goalie must be ready for a wrap around or quick centering pass

BUTTERFLY: An overused term. It is when a goalie drops allowing both pads to extend out to the side and with the 5-hole closed (or almost closed). The majority of the lower portion of the net is covered, and the goalies holes are shut down. Just because a goalie drops to his/her knees, does not mean they are butterfly goalies.

TRANSITION: The ability to “change” from one move to another. It may be to “change” quickly left to right, or telescope to shuffle or shuffle to half butterfly. The quicker the better.

WORK ETHIC: There is no substitute for hard work. A goalie should practice as he/she plays but remember to always have FUN!!!

Full of Wonder

Precious little princess so full of wonder! All of the new adventures that are ahead. All of the memories yet to be created. All of the journeys that the family will go on. Together the family will share them all!!!

Only those who look with the eyes of children can lose themselves in the object of their wonder!!!

The parents wonder what is she going to be like? Will she be like mommy or will she be like daddy? Will she have a little bit of each of us? As I look at this little person I can sure see a little bit of mommy and a little bit of daddy!!! but who will she act like? She is so tiny and so fragile right now but so full of wonder and sparkle. Mommy and daddy finally get to bring her home and get to know her. They will be able to get her into a routine and start their life together. I can't help but fill up with tears "happy tears" that is, as I watch this sweet little baby girl lye so silently and innocently. Children are truly amazing and add happiness to my days!!!

I am so lucky and excited to be able to photograph this little miracle. I am looking foward to being able to watch her grow and learn. I will be right there along side of mommy and daddy photographing her every event and freezing the precious moments in time. It's so neat watching all these babies grow and become little individuals with very unique personailities. They really open up to me and share their hearts. I want to take each and every moment and capture them so they will last forever!!!

I truly find delight in the happiness and beauty of children. Children change everyday...some days it happens right before our eyes. Enjoy each and everyday as life passes us by so quickly.

Always remember that the presence of a child in your life is a blessing. Never forget that it is our children that are our joys and because of them we are better people! Let our children remind us everyday why we need to make this world a better place. Our children are our light and sunshine on dark and dreary days and it is because of them that our lives have meaning.

Joy truly comes in tiny packages!!

Keep in mind:
embrace imperfection,
go with the flow,
tell your story,
and celebrate everyday!!!

Have a lovely evening - Cheers!

The arrival of a new baby

Bonding is a word that means deep attachment you build with your baby or the babies of others. Look at this precious little girl, look how peaceful and beautiful she looks. What our eyes can convey without words. She may be so little but her eyes are truly the window to her beautiful soul. It is amazing being able to be apart of so many people's special events. This little girl is one day old. I was able to hold her, snuggle her, and spend some time taking pictures of her - wow, simply breath taking. Keira is gorgeous and a sweet little angel. The arrival of a baby is always a cause of joy and celebration. There is nothing more exciting then to be there and experience these special moments with the families.

Babies are Angels that fly to the earth,

their wings disappear at the time of their birth

one look in their eyes and we're never the same

They're part of us now and that part has a name

That part is your heart and a bond that won't sever

our Babies are Angels, we love them forever.

~Unknown~

Look at this little precious one, she is so small and so sweet. Keira is straight from heaven's brightest star. Little babies are such miracles! I just love the happiness that such a little bundle of love can bring. Keira was 5 pounds and 10 ounces of pure goodness!

New Born Supermodel!!! At 1 day old this little princess is already posing for me. She opened her eyes big and wide to let me look into her soul. Let me tell you she sure melted my heart. Look out mom and dad you have a little beauty on your hands! She is just a doll.

When a baby enters this world,
into your life
A baby can make you forget your
worries and strife.
It really doesn't matter whether
it's a girl or a boy
A baby will melt your heart and bring you joy!
So shower a baby with love,
every single day.
Show a baby you truly care-
there's so many ways.
For with a blink of an eye, time
will fly out the door-
and your precious baby, won't
be a baby anymore!!

Two tiny feet
That wave in the air
Two tiny hands
That tug at your hair
Cute bottom for patting
Adorable face
A bundle of joy
To love and embrace

Enjoy your little baby as they grow up way too fast!! I can hardle believe that my own two are 9 and 5. It feels like yesterday when they were both this little. Now they are very independant and need me for what feels like very little, even Jacob who is only 5 wants to do everything on his own. He has been riding a two wheeler since he was 2 1/2 crazy or what...nope, just a very determined and independant little individual. Sometimes I love it and other times I realize they are growing up way to quickly boo hoo!!! That means I am getting older ahhhhh!

Have a great evening and don't forget to give you little or big one a very long lasting SNUGGLE!!!! Enjoy every minute for the minutes turn into years and time creeps by.

Cottage Life

It has certainly been some time since my last posting. We have been away the last couple weeks enjoying the "great outdoors". My boys definitely had a blast. I don't think they can get enough of the cottage life. They wake up early and are out on the beach before I even get out of bed. They really love the freedom. They love the ability to run free with very little rules. There are rules, don't get me wrong (for example, don't hurt the frogs and toads, don't ask the neighbours to lift the paddle boats every hour, bring dad a beer LOL!!!) but the dangers are very minimal. They know that they don't go in the water without an adult present and so they pretty much run the beach with the other boys from the cottages next to us. At one point there was "10 BOYS" from the ages of 5 to 13. They all ran from sunrise to sunset "Literally". One night, I think it was 10:00 before we called them into bed. They were happy and so were all of the adults, so why ruin the moment let them have a FUN vacation...they will be back at school too soon and following the bed time rules - boo hoo!!!

Connor and Jacob love to play in the kayaks and use the paddle boat. They paddle around the little inlet in Georgian Bay. They love to head over to the dock and park their boats so they can jump in the water and cool off with a nice swim. Of course you will often see one give the other a push off the dock and a dunk here and there...boy, the waterfront is the best place to be!

One of the boys most favorite pastimes is finding and catching toads and frogs. They love to build sandcastle homes for their summer pets. They know to be gentle and kind and treat them with respect. They love to just sit there and watch their little friends. I actually caught and held one all by myself this year. I have been afraid - yeah, I have overcome my little fear.

Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada

These are a couple of my favorite pictures of Jacob. I would just follow the boys with the camera and sit back and try and capture a few precious moments. They are growing up soooo fast!

I was actually trying to take a picture of the boys feet in this bottom photo and I quickly realized that the two of the were sitting close to each other and not fighting - yeah, I stole another moment and froze it time - yeah!!!!

Have a great evening!!!!
